Town Hall Meeting Planned to Receive Public Input

On Thursday evening, March 9, each of the six Kick Start Lonoke Action Teams will present their goal statement drafts for public input during a Town Hall public forum facilitated by Lonoke Chamber of Commerce.

The Town Hall will be held at 5:30 pm at Lonoke Assembly of God, 1763 Front St. SW.

The purpose of the Town Hall is to give citizens an opportunity to hear about the specific areas that each team is prioritizing, and to provide individual perspectives regarding additional items of concern to the community.

By hearing from the public, the Action Teams will then have an opportunity to revise or add to the goal statements, in order to make sure that the Kick Start Lonoke Strategic Action Plan addresses issues that are relevant to the citizens of Lonoke in a comprehensive, inclusive manner.

After the March 9 Town Hall, each Action Team’s goal statements will be posted on this website and a period of public comment will be open for the general public to provide feedback, prior to the final edits to the goal statements.

Following this period of public comment, each Action Team will make final edits and submit the goal statements to the team from UCA’s Center for Economic & Community Development, where they will be formatted and included in the Strategic Action Plan document.

The Kick Start Lonoke Strategic Action Plan will be unveiled during a press conference on Thursday, May 18 at 10:00 am.  Governor Asa Hutchinson, Arkansas Economic Development Commission Director Mike Preston, and State Senator Jonathan Dismang have been invited to come to Lonoke to speak at this event.
